Author's Inspiration

As a first-time author, I’m excited to share my journey with you. My passion for storytelling and love for children inspired me to create a delightful children’s book that entertains and educates young readers. Born in Savannah, Georgia, in 1951, I moved with my family to Cape Coral, Florida, in 1959, becoming the twelfth family to settle there.  An alumnus of Cypress Lake High School and Eckerd College. After high school, I began my career as Assistant Manager of Big John’s Supermarket before transitioning into a career as a professional firefighter and opening a photo studio  in 1975.  I began a new chapter of my life when I married Wendy Stott in 1978, who has been a constant source of inspiration throughout our successful and fulfilling life together. In the early '90s, we closed the studio when I became Division Chief, and I retired from the fire department in 1997. Later, I was hired by Cape Coral National Bank as Vice President of Marketing. Wendy and I continue to volunteer in various areas, and throughout this journey, I’ve always had a deep passion for storytelling, which ultimately led me to write this book. Many family and friends encouraged me to publish the book.
